1-33. Cardigan Engineering Company
The Company thrived at the beginning of this century and a number of its records have survived, mainly correspondence 1892-1931, business receipts and advertisements. These records consist mainly of correspondence to clothing firms [Pettigrew and Stephens Ltd. Glasgow], about arrangements for travel to Penang and from Mr. Baillie to his daughter Joe. In his private life, Mr. Baillie had several hobbies which he keenly pursued. He was interested in farming, especially rearing poultry and later on he devoted most of his time to this. In keeping with his engineering background, he was also very interested in cars and motorcycles. He received copies of The Motor and Motorcycling every week and from these, he would either keep articles of interest or the complete edition.
