Label attacked to wallpaper swatch: John Jones, picture frame maker, Carpentaria House, Llanon ('all kinds of mountings and mouldings in stock'). Carpentaria House appears in the census from 1891-1911, when it was occupied by a joiner, David Jones, and Eleanor Jones and their son John, then a boot and shoe dealer (aged 48, 49 and 23 respectively in 1891). The wallpaper suggests a mid 20th century date.
