Scope and Content: The correspondence includes numerous letters received by Evelyn Hope (1862-1939) from various correspondents, which predominantly concern her research on the ancestry of the Hope family, and the history p. Llangrannog. The papers include anonymous notes relating to the ancestry of the Hope family (the majority of which may be presumed to have been written by Evelyn Hope); notes and family trees received from correspondents; and published material, including newspaper cuttings relating to members of the Hope family, and copies of two booklets on the history of Llangrannog, both of which are credited to Evelyn Hope.

Cardigan, notes on Evelyn Hope's ancestry, including the histories of the Hope and Breton families; notes on the naval career of Charles Webley Hope; notes on the political career of Charles Hope; a family tree of relations to the Hope family; a letter to Charles William Webley Hope; a letter to Herbert Hope; several letters to Evelyn Hope concerning her ancestry; and two newspaper cuttings, one of which reports on the presentation of a plate to Charles William Webley Hope, at the end of the Penrhiwpal Sessions, to mark the occasion of his marriage.

Minotaur” folder, and includes the following: a rough family tree of the ancestors of the Hope family, beginning with George Price (d. 1786), and descending to Charles Webley Hope; notes on the histories of the Bowen and Price families; notes on the Tudor family; notes on the Stuart and Hope families; a note on the death of Adrian Hope; notes on the Hope family, including extracts from the letters of the late Mrs Hope, widow of the late Dr Hope; two letters from Charlotte Philipps to Mrs Hope; a letter from Colonel Charles Lord to Evelyn Hope; and several letters from the Historical Society of West Wales to Evelyn Hope.

Scope and Content: This file includes: newspaper cuttings, consisting of a notice of a birth, two marriage notices, one funeral notice, and a description of a will, all of which relate to members of the Hope family, and are contained within an envelope marked "keep"; a separate newspaper cutting, which is a copy of a letter from the Rev. Thomas Charles to Dorothy Price (great-great-grandmother of Charles William Webley Hope), published in the Carmarthen Journal, with the permission of Mr Hope; a copy of an elegy for Eliza Price (daughter of George Price), who died on the 15th August 1780, written in Welsh, and credited to the Rev. William Williams, of Pantycelyn (1717-1791); two envelope cuttings, each bearing an insignia, and contained within an envelope addressed to Miss Hope; and a letter addressed to "my dear lady", from "most obedient and humble servant Mary," at Pigeonsford, contained within an envelope addressed to Miss Hope.

Scope and Content: This file includes: a handwritten, partial transcription of a bargain and sale, dated 20th November 1658, between: 1) David William, p. Penbryn, co. Cardigan, yeoman, and Thomas David, his son, of the same parish, and 2) David Price p. Llanarth, co. Cardigan, clerk, concerning land called Tir-y-Pantgwyn; a handwritten transcript of a quitclaim, dated 20th September 1670, between 1) David William p. Penbryn, co. Cardigan, and Thomas David, his son, of the same parish and 2) David Price, p. Llanarth, co. Cardigan, concerning land known as Tir-y-Pantgwyn, p. Penbryn, co. Cardigan; and a handwritten transcript of a gift, dated 20th June 1674, between 1) David Price, p. Llanarth, co. Cardigan, clerk, and 2) David Price of the same parish and county, youngest son of the said David Price, concerning one m. of land commonly called Tir-y-Pantgwyn, lying mostly in p. Penbryn, and partly in p. Blaenporth [Blaenn-porth], for a consideration of £45.

Scope and Content: This file contains handwritten and typewritten notes on the histories of Llangrannog, the Price family, and the Parry family. Among the notes are two typewritten copies of tables that respectively show the descendants of David Price of Llanarth, and Bridget Parry. The file also includes ten letters addressed to Miss Hope from Francis Green of the Historical Society of West Wales, ranging from 1914 to 1930.

Guinness to Evelyn Hope, which concern Arthur Price, Archbishop of Cashel (1744-1757) and Thomas Price, Archbishop of Cashel (1664-1685); a typewritten pedigree of the Price family, by Henry S. Guinness, which was enclosed with one his letters; a newspaper cutting, which consists of a letter to the editor from Henry S. Guinness, on the parentage of Arthur Price; handwritten notes on the lives of Arthur Price and Thomas Price; and a handwritten family tree, beginning with David Price of Llanarth, and descending to his great-grand-children.
