LIB/78/1

Slides of views of and from Vale of Rheidol Railway and of Aberystwyth and scenic locations around Devil's Bridge. Details of subject, exposure, zoom and light condition are written on the slide frames. The photographer(s) had more than one camera, on 26-27 August 1959 using on loaded with Kodak film and another with Feraniacolor. Reference to picture numbers (given in parenthesis) shows that images were selected for deposit. The bulk of the photographs were taken on 2 and 26-27 August 1959 (Nos. 1-16, 66; 17-33; 34-64) and 22 July 1968 (Nos. 67-70), and record journeys undertaken on the railway. Photographs were taken first in the Aberystwyth yards, then around Devil's Bridge station, before moving on to the scenic falls below, and might conclude with views from the train. The remaining photographs, taken on 28 August 1959 (No. 65), 7 June 1969 (No. 71) and in April 1982 (No. 72), are shots of locomotives taken in and around Aberystwyth.
