Account book - Evan Timothy, New Quay (1814-1832)

Administrative History:
Evan Timothy was a Director of the New Quay Harbour Company; originally from Ireland where he had been in the Customs Service. When he left the Customs Service he set up business in New Quay and was closely associated with the foundation of Tabernacle Chapel.
The Timothy Family ran three shops in New Quay and Evan Timothy invested in a number of ships. It is believed that the Account Book is related to the shop business and the trading in the port of New Quay related to this business, recording the exchange of goods to be sold in the shops and the money that changed hands.
