NEW OPENING HOURS
Please note that from 27 June 2024 we will be CLOSED to the public on Thursdays until April 2025.
There will be no change to our opening hours on the remaining days.
This temporary reduction in our opening hours will enable us to tackle a backlog of assorted tasks which had accumulated due to being short-staffed. We intend to restore our full opening hours once we are back to the full complement of staff.
We are sorry for any inconvenience.
Ceredigion Archives is the record office for the county formerly known as Cardiganshire or (in Welsh) Sir Aberteifi. We are part of Ceredigion County Council.
We collect and preserve documents about the history of Cardiganshire and make them available for research.
Everyone is welcome to come to the Archives to do research - on family history, local history,
old vehicle registrations, and many other subjects. We're here for personal research, for school projects, university degree work, academic research, and research for business purposes.
Staff at the Archives can suggest appropriate lines of research, and guide you in the use of the documents.
